Sunday 12/28/25 – Arrive Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), the largest city of Vietnam. Two nights at Orchids Hotel (4*), in an excellent, central location.
Monday 12/29/25 – Ho Chi Minh City
Full day to enjoy Ho Chi Minh City: War Remnants Museum, with a Vietnamese perspective on the Vietnam War; Reunification Hall, the former seat of government for South Vietnam; Cu Chi Tunnels, dug by the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War to hide from the Americans; Gustav Eiffel’s Post Office, and more. Night #2 in Ho Chi Minh City.
Tuesday 12/30/25 – Ho Chi Minh City to Hoi An
Fly from HCM City to Danang, then travel 45 minutes to Hoi An, one of Vietnam’s most pleasant towns and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Three nights at La Charm Hoi An Hotel and Spa (4*) a short walk to the old town.
Wednesday 12/31/25 – Hoa An
Morning walking tour of Hoi An’s old town, with hundreds of well- preserved historic buildings. Afternoon is free to explore on your own, shop, relax, or do an optional activity. New Year’s Eve in Hoi An.
Thursday 1/1/26 – Hoi An
Free day in Hoi An, with different options (extra cost): boat trip to villages, cooking class, snorkeling or diving offshore, My Son temple ruins, bicycle rental, Ao Bang Beach, Ba Na Hills, or just relax and go to the spa. Night #3 in Hoi An.
Friday 1/2/26 – Hoi An to Halong City
Morning free in Hoi An for more activities. Afternoon flight from Danang to Haiphong in northern Vietnam. One night in Halong City at Palette Collects Boutique Hotel (3*) in an excellent central location.
Saturday 1/3/26 – Halong Bay to Hanoi
Take a day cruise on beautiful Halong Bay, with 2000 limestone islands rising from the water. Explore caves, admire the scenery, with options for a short hike to a hilltop or kayaking on the water. Return to shore in the afternoon and travel 2 hours by road to Hanoi. Two nights in Hanoi at Bella Premier Hotel (4*), in an excellent location near the historic heart of Hanoi.
Sunday 1/4/26 – Hanoi
Enjoy a full day in Hanoi, with a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, a monolithic structure with the body of North Vietnam’s leader in a glass coffin. Walk along Hoan Kiem Lake, beautifully located between the Hanoi’s old quarter and French quarter. Attend an entertaining water puppet show. Night #2 in Hanoi.
Monday 1/5/26 – Hanoi to Siem Reap, Cambodia
Morning free. Afternoon flight from Hanoi to Siem Reap, Cambodia. Two nights in Siem Reap at The Jungle Hotel.
Tuesday 1/6/26 – Angkor, Cambodia
Full day to explore the ruins of Angkor, one of the greatest ancient cities of the world. See Angkor Wat (temple), one of Asia’s most famous sights. Marvel at Bayon Temple with its 54 stone towers. Explore Ta Prohm, an unrestored temple partly overtaken by gigantic tree roots. Night #2 in Siem Reap.
Wednesday 1/7/26 – Siem Reap
Free day for optional activities: return to the temples of Angkor (must buy another ticket), rent a bike or e-bike to visit Angkor independently, tour Prek Toal Bird Sanctuary and floating village, relax, or shop. In the evening watch an entertaining performance of traditional Cambodian dance with a farewell dinner. Night #3 in Siem Reap.
Thursday 1/8/26 – Depart Cambodia to USA
Depart Siem Reap for the USA, or continue traveling on your own to see more of Southeast Asia. Arrive in the USA either 1/8/26 or 1/9/26
